Dr. Lo Yuk Lam, Executive Committee Member of Chinese Manufacturer’s Association of Hong Kong (CMA)and Consultant of Smart City Industrial Committee of Chinese Manufacturer’s Association of Hong Kong, Mr. Philip Leung, Chairman of HKPKI Forum, and Prof. Mingming Leng, Head of Department of Computing and Decision Sciences of Lingnan University, co-signed the Cooperation Memorandum on Digital Signature Applications Design that will provide internship opportunities regarding related application design for undergraduates and graduate students via ways like teaching, seminars and internship etc. The three parties will cultivate young talents on digital signature applications to lay the foundation for long-term e-payment development. Mr. Dennis Lee, Manager of Information and Telecommunication Group from Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), said in his opening address that HKSTP welcomes newly established enterprises to come to HKSTP to benefit from facilities and venues. |

The Wider Adoption of e-Cheque and Digital Signature in Business Applications Seminar co-organized by the Smart City Industrial Committee of Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong (CMA) and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) was held in the Innovation Center on 30 August 2016. It had attracted industrial leaders and the experts across Hong Kong and Mainland China. Taking the opportunity, Lingnan University held the Signing Ceremony for the Cooperation Memorandum on Digital Signature Applications Design at this event and sent student audience to share the discussion. The seminar was well supported by Hong Kong Computer Society: Smart City SIG, Lingnan University and HKPKI Forum. Representatives from the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) and Hong Kong Monetary Authority participated the seminar.
At the seminar, experts from Hong Kong and Mainland China brought informative speeches for the audience. Mr. Clarence Hui, Senior Manager from Hong Kong Monetary Authority, introduced the latest developments of e-Cheque in Hong Kong in terms of Government’s point of view; Mr. Guo Hongjie, General Manager of the authorized operator of the Third Research Institute of Ministry of Public Security, elaborated how eID will help realize secure cross-border e-Cheque collection; Dr. C.K. Wong, the honorable advisory committee member of Hong Kong Computer Society, gave a detailed introduction on how to realize wider adoption of e-Cheque and digital signature. It is our wish to combine eID and cross-border e-Cheque to create more convenient, more secure and smarter cross-border payment method, benefiting enterprises and citizens of Hong Kong and Mainland China. |
