Hong Kong PKI Forum together with Education Convergence, HK Federation of Education Workers reach Certizen Technology recently participated in the "2025 Learning & Teaching Expo" and successfully held the「Smart Campus: Digital Transformation and ESG Practices」sharing session, attracting over a hundred educational leaders to participate.
Mr. Tang Fei, member of Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Vice President of the Education Federation, emphasized that the use of blockchain technology combined with international standard digital identity authentication can ensure the anti-fraud function of electronic transcripts and other documents, while also improving school governance performance. He appealed to the SAR government to take the lead in recognizing the legal effectiveness of such technology in issuing documents.
Mr. Choi Sai Hung, Chairman of Education Convergence, agreed that this technology is in line with the trend of digitalization, and pointed out that applications such as electronic payment systems have already effectively improved administrative efficiency. Dr. Wu Chili of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University used the real case example of rapid verification of cross-border graduation certificate to demonstrate the technological advantages of combining decentralized digital identity (DID) with verifiable credentials (VC), and its ability to solve certificate forgery problems, fulfill social responsibilities, and promote establishment of a green campus.
Mr. Raymond Wong, Chief Industry Application Advisor of Hong Kong PKI Forum, pointed out that this technology can generate tamper-proof digital documents, promoting the establishment of smart and green campuses. During the Q&A session, Scarlett Ie, representative of the organizer of a nationwide school competition, expressed an immediate interest in using this technology to issue certification documents, clearly recognizing its ability to effectively prevent the risk of certificate forgery.
Ms. Chan Yuen Wah, Chairman of Hong Kong PKI Forum, stated that this event reflects the urgent need for digital transformation in the education sector, and the forum will continue to strive to integrate resources from policy makers, schools, technology suppliers, and certification bodies, making digital identity authentication combined with blockchain technology the ideal solution to ensure the authenticity of credentials and improve efficiency. She called on more educational institutions to join in building a trusted certificate ecosystem.
